NCACO-score is a main-chain dependent scoring function, which using only 4 main-chain atoms: N, CA, C and O. NCACO-score integrates four potential terms: contact-based pairwise atom-atom interactions, sequence-dependent local conformational propensities, solvation effects, and geometry propensities of beta sheet. NCACO-score can effectively recognize native conformers from decoys. Furthermore, NCACO-score was demonstrated to have good potential for protein structure prediction. NCACO-score could be an effective scoring function for structural modeling.
